Telegram was launched in August 2013 and quickly became popular lately after WhatsApp ran into some troubles after their new Privacy Policy update earlier this year. Telegram, compared to WhatsApp, offered a lot of features, making it one of the most loaded messaging app/services in the app market. However, it did not have a significant feature that many messaging services do, which is the group video call feature. Now Telegram has rolled out new update which includes group video calling with screen sharing feature along with noise suppression, message sending animations, animated backgrounds, bot menu and many more.
Here are the new features that came with its latest update:
Group Video Calls:
Users can now enjoy and host full-screen group video calling on the Telegram Web platform. It also supposedly wants to rival conferencing tools like Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, etc. Telegram also has features like noise suppression and tablet support for its new feature.
On tablets and desktops, video calls will appear in a split-screen view, with a list of participants, somewhat similar to the other video conferencing apps out there. In addition, it will also appear in a different window leaving the users free to navigate separately without minimizing the window.
Animated backgrounds:
Telegram is also adding several changes to its User Interface. First, it introduces animated backgrounds for the chats, where different designs and colors can move in the background while a user is sending or receiving any messages.
Message Animations:
There are also new message animations for stickers, emojis, and messages, which can be found moving upwards from the text box into chat.
They also added more animated emoji options, a bot to browse through the different commands that the platform offers. There is also a log of the login info and reminders for the same. Soon the apps will also release a tool that can let developers create their stickers and import them on the platform for users.
The update will be coming soon on both the App Store & the Google Play Store. So please keep your eyes peeled for this loaded upgrade that puts the platform up there with its competitors.
