Vivo Y72 5G with Snapdragon 480 SoC launched in India: Specs and Price

Vivo has launched its first 5G smartphone of the Y series, Vivo Y72 5G in India today. The smartphone is a tweaked version of the Vivo Y72 that was launched in Thailand in March this year. The launch of the smartphone expands the territory of Vivo 5G smartphones in the country and is happy news for Vivo fans. The phone is ready to be purchased from various e-stores including Amazon, Flipkart and the Vivo India e-store itself. 

The Vivo Y72 5G variant launched in India is a bit different from the original Vivo Y72 that was launched in Thailand earlier. Therefore, the price range of both versions varies from the other. The Vivo Y72 that was launched in Thailand had a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC chipset however, the processor in the Indian version of the Vivo Y72 is Qualcomm Snapdragon 480. Not only the processor but the rear camera setup varies in both variants.

Thailand prototype had a triple camera setup on the rear side while the Indian version had a Dual-camera setup. Consequently, there is a slight difference in the price of smartphones. The Thailand variant of the phone was price tagged to be 22,800 INR while on the other hand, the Indian version with these two differences is titled to be 20,990 INR. 

The smartphone is operated by Funtouch OS 11.1 which is based on Android 11. The phone has a Full HD+ IPS display of 6.58 inches with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The dual-camera setup has a 48-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The selfie camera at the front is 8-megapixels. As mentioned earlier the phone has an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 SoC which is paired with 8 GB of RAM. The phone houses a battery of 5,000 mAh with 18W fast charging and has a fingerprint sensor mounted on the side. 

Moreover, Vivo Y72 5G is available in 2 color options namely-Prism Magic and Slate Grey. Various launch offers are also available that include ₹1500 cashback if purchased via HDFC, ICICI or Kotak Bank.
