WhatsApp will soon allow the quality of videos the users want to share the video with. As of now, there has been no choice in terms of the quality of the video that is shared by the users but according to WABetainfo, the Facebook owned company is already working to change that and introduce the new feature in the near future.
At present, if someone wants to send high quality videos, then they prefer to use Rich Communication Services (RCS) instead of sending it through WhatsApp as they are more clear and effective. When the feature is live for everyone to use and once your WhatsApp is updated, it will allow the users to select the quality of the videos before sending it to someone. It could be low or high resolution, or even auto recommend. It all depends on the user’s choice at the time of sending the video.
How this also helps different people is that people with fast internet connections can now send videos in high quality to others without lowering the quality and people with a slow internet connection can compress the video down to their liking with a lower resolution and send the video file to someone.
This feature will also support people to save a lot of storage space in the WhatsApp back up, if chosen to compress video files and stored in a lower resolution. The instant messaging app has 16MB files for all the videos sent currently and there is no option to modify the size of that video file.
It is currently not an active feature on the app or the beta as the company is still working on it. It is an important feature that the users of WhatsApp are calling for and will find it very convenient and useful once it is out. According to reports, it is a feature that should arrive very soon in the coming months. Another important change that WhatsApp is reportedly making to the app is the new Audio Waveform feature. This feature will start displaying real-time waveforms when you record a voice message before sending it to someone.
